Ongoing challenges organized by FIPS
The Helsinki Asteroid Challenge 2026 is now open.

Helsinki Asteroid Challenge 2026
The Helsinki Asteroid Challenge 2026 invites researchers and scientists to test their reconstruction algorithms on real-world lightcurve data. The challenge focuses on recovering 3D asteroid models from photometric observations.
Past challenges

Helsinki Speech Challenge 2024
We invite researchers and scientists to test their speech enhancement and audio deconvolution algorithms on our real world data.
Participants will be provided with real-world data sets, consisting of paired clean and corrupted audio samples affected by our recording setup. The challenge is to develop innovative methods to effectively recover a clean audio signal.

Kuopio Tomography Challenge 2023
The Finnish Inverse Problems Society (FIPS) proudly presents the Kuopio Tomography Challenge 2023 (KTC2023). We warmly welcome scientists and research groups worldwide to participate in this exciting academic event. Take the opportunity to showcase your expertise by testing reconstruction algorithms with real-world electrical impedance tomography data.
